Dear 6-7ians (2008)

How are all of you doing?

It's been about 16 months since you graduated from SAPS and I am sure many of you have had encountered and had to deal with many issues in your secondary school life.

Many of you probably feel that it was so much more simpler being in primary school. Well, wake up to the reality everyone! It will never be the same again. You just have to keep moving ahead.

Remember always the motto of St. Anthony's Primary, Crescit Eundo - Growing As We Advance. Remember the symbol of your alma mater, the Phoenix - the lengendary bird that burns bright and would rise again from the ashes even after it diminishes and 'die'. Let that symbol be the spirit you adopt. One that never gives up and will keep on burning bright.

Always keep moving ahead! Remember that Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude. I believe that those who have come under my tutelage will somehow bear this in mind.

I continue to wish you well and hope you will always make the effort to maintain the bonds of friendship you have with one another.

K so some of you didn't really get what I was saying in the previous post about the CNY celebrations thing.

Listen up.

1. You can either GO OR DON'T GO. Your choice. Not a must to go, but if will miss a chance to see all your friends and teachers.

2. SAPS is HAVING A FULL DAY ON 23RD JANUARY. Not halfday. It ends school at the usual time. Idk if you all go back at like 12.30pm. Coz I think ALL classes will still be having lessons. Suggested, you go in at 1.30pm. Suggested ah, not must.

3. If you want to come in your home clothes, it's alright I think. Not confirmed. (Mr Koh please help with this)

4. The security guard would probably let you in after school is dismissed. Oh wait, BEWARE OF CHIONGING JUNIORS WHO WILL CHIONG OUT AFTER SCHOOL. SCARY OK.

Hello 6-7ians!

Enjoying school? Like your school? Haha for most of you guys, orientation would have ended. (: Don't forget about 6-7!

Okay so. Chinese New Year Celebration in SAPS will be held on 23 January 2009, which will be next next Friday. Do try to make it back to SAPS and visit everyone, it'll be nice seeing all of you there! SAPS will be having a full day, not a half day on that day as it's not CNY eve so I think that should make things easier for y'all.

Haha I just had this really crazy idea of.. writing testimonies! If you guys want to, write a testimony of how you felt in 2008. Testimony means something like experience. So ya.. you can write your own experience to share with us and all. If you do have one, email or msn me at racheleatsyourbrains@hotmail.com. Or you can sms me too! :)

So here's mine.

When I first heard that I was going to 6-7 in 2007, I had no reaction. Just neutral. But was pretty happy because many of my friends in 5-5 were going there too.

So when 2008 came, and during the first day of school, I still felt neutral. I didn't care if Mr Koh was my form teacher coz I didn't know much about him then, only knew that he was the IT guy and the Cathecism guy. That's all.

But as the days passed, I began to love 6-7 more. And when Mr Koh cracked the black moss joke, we laughed so frickin' hard. Remember? We were as close as family, and united as one! :)

Soon we had to prepare for PSLE that would officially start in August. Mr Koh had to mark A LOT of stuff, and we were all studying, and mugging. And during class (especially Science) we were totally unfocused.. coz IT WAS SO BORING. Especially with the lights off. (Pls take note Mr Koh...)

Then came the Rasa Singapura NDP dance. We worked extra hard, taking time off our studying, to practice. Especially the dancers. And our hard work paid off, as we clinched Grand Champion award! Remember how happy we were?!

PSLE came and gone, we're now graduates. Like it or not, we're in secondary school. We're secondary ones now, no more primary sixes. But guys, always remember this. Once an Anthonian, always an Anthonian. Never forget how you lived in SAPS, what you learnt and who your friends are. Because I can tell you, your friends in 6-7 will never forget the experience in 6-7 and SAPS, and that's what I believe in.

Okay guys. Last post before we officially graduate from SAPS. Here is the info copied out from the notice given out on the PSLE Results day.

"The PSLE Leaving Certificates will be given out on Thursday, 18 December 2008 together with the S1 posting between 11am - 12.30pm at the school library. Please come in school uniform. You can also check your posting results online using the same password given in the S1 Option. If you do not intend to come to collect the certificate on this day, you can do so at the General Office after this date."

100th Post for our blog!

Hi people. PSLE Marking Days - Yesterday, last Thursday, Monday and Tuesday.

Ok I've noticed in the tagboard that not much people are tagging except the usuals. Rachel Chee tagged, "Everyone has forgotten about this blogg le larhs." Kwan Wen replied no. Stacey said no too. So ok, I get the feeling that you guys are just checking this blog for announcements and official matters.

I thought of a class blog for yes, announcements. But I also wanted this blog for memories' sake. I have people asking me, "Is the class blog updated? Anything important?" on MSN. HELLO, IT'S ONLY A CLICK AWAY. It's only a second or maybe for some of you, half a second.

I'm not trying to force you all to check the class blog every hour and minute. Or everyday. It's nearly the end of our primary school life and this blog has been going on for a whole year, doesn't it have any memories left?

I don't think you all really check for nice posts and all. Maybe it's really just for important stuff. PSLE is over, everyone is relaxing. Sometimes in the afternoon I see many of you guys online and stuffs.

I really just want you all to tag. Keep the class blog up and going. Not dead. Keep it going by tagging more. Last week, I checked the blog everyday and not much people tagged. When I changed the skin not much people tagged about it. I changed it on 8 October. Check the tagboard. I changed it at 6pm. No one commented about it.

I wish all of you ALL THE BEST! Although I really don't wanna leave SAPS): I know some of you are happy to leave because you don't like the school. But really, who was the one who nurtured your fruitful education?

I am extremely proud of all of you for all your efforts and spirit in making the National Day Dance a tremendous success. You have gone against all odds to come out tops among the other outstanding performances by the other classes.

A BIG Thank You to our dancers:
(alphabetical order) Athmika, Cherine, Geraldine, Mingfei, Mingxiang, Rachel Chee, Rachel Ng, Resha, Sharifah and Stacey as well as our brave boys, Ben Ho, Dewei and Robert!

Dear 6-7ians

A team of Anthonians made up of students from 6-2 have submitted a Lego model for the "LEGO Build-a-Brick Competition" which is part of the inaugural Singapore Toy and Comic Convention supported by the Singapore Tourism Board.

The competition requires them to build an icon of Singapore using Lego bricks. Our Anthonians' model is titled 'Raffles Eating Chicken Rice'. After going through two rounds of competition, they are one of the 10 finalists who will be showcasing their model at the convention held at Suntec City Hall 603 from 27th June 08 - 29th June 08. The exhibition will be open to the public from 28th June - 29th June.

As 60% of the final results will be based on public voting, we will need all the support we can get from our fellow Anthonians. Voting takes place from 11 am to 12.15 pm on 29th June (Sunday).

As fellow Anthonians and especially fellow P6s, I hope that as many of our 6-7ians can support our peers. If you are interested in going down to support, please send me an SMS to let me know. We will confirm the details when school reopens.

Just in case some of you have problems downloading the file, I have included the file in the announcements in LEAD. This means that when you log-in, wait for the announcement about the "P6 Social Studies Activity Book" and wait till the end. You will see a link to the file. Click on it, save it and then open it. Your Social Studies assignment is now up on the LEAD portal. Please login and carry out the task. We will go through the answers in class on Tuesday 20th May. Please bring your SS Activity Book then.

Dear 6-7ians

Please be reminded that we will be going for the SJI Visit (for boys) and Healthzone (for girls) tomorrow (Thu 15 May)

Boys are to be in SCHOOL UNIFORM. Girls are to be in PE ATTIRE.

We will have our recess from 8:30-9:00a.m.
The boys will then gather at the bus bay and prepare to leave for SJI.
The girls will gather in the School Hall for a quick briefing before leaving for Healthzone.

Girls, you are to report to Mdm Tan, form teacher of 6-4.

Bring a small bag with writing materials and a story book for silent reading period.
